Barioz Festival

The Fête du Barioz (patois for barrier) is the traditional festival
of Pralognan-la-Vanoise’s oldest district! A not-to-be-missed
organised by the Pralognan-la-Vanoise Festival Committee.

Highlights: Between tradition and conviviality!

• Craft market and refreshments / Local produce – STARTING AT 10 AM
All day long, craft market with nearly 60 exhibitors, bugnes for sale, refreshments, and a barbecue to benefit the Pralognan firefighters.

• Parade through the streets of Pralognan-la-Vanoise / History – 11 AM
The parade evokes life in times gone by, reflecting the rhythm of the seasons. Decorated floats pass by, evoking life in the mountain pastures, the birth of mountaineering, and winter tourism. These are truly animated scenes for young and old!

• Traditional Activities, Place du Barioz / Folklore – 12 PM
Dancing, music, and folk groups (Lionel Tuaz, Embrunes, La Band’à Rioule, La Cliqueraine, Christian Gellon), demonstrations of ancestral skills (cheesemaking with the participation of the Ritord mountain pasture), and barbecue.

• Farmers’ Soup / Conviviality – 6:30 PM
An invitation to taste the farmers’ soup, which has been simmering since morning. First come, first served! Dance evening with music.

• Also:
Les talents de Pralognan (association of artistic talents from Pralognan: painting, mosaics, engraving, embroidery, sculpture, photography, etc.), Gromier (wooden objects), wood-related activities (from 3 PM to 3:30 PM), Les Bambins des Bois (woodworking machines), the National Forestry Office, the Vanoise National Park, and the French Alpine Club.
